On the occasion of the Chinese New Year celebration, the Mongolia-Chinese border crossings will be closed on 27-29th of January according to an inter-governmental agreement.

On the occasion of the Chinese New Year celebration, the Mongolia-Chinese border crossings will be closed on 27-29th of January according to an inter-governmental agreement. The Chinese New Year holiday lasts for three days. The agreement does not affect the railway entry crossing at Zamyn Uud, therefore the international train schedule will not be affected. This year, Mongolia and China celebrate Lunar New Year at different times, Mongolian “‘Tsagaan sar” or “Lunar Moon” will be held on 27-29th of February. In most years, the festival dates coincide in the two countries.
