In addition, Mongolian consulates in Osaka, the second largest city in Japan and in the city of Hailar, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China are to be closed. Nevertheless, a number of consular services can now be done online. Instead, Mongolia will establish a new consulate in Shanghai and upgrade its consulate office into an embassy in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
