More Mongolian students to receive scholarships from Government of Cuba.
More Mongolian students to receive scholarships from Government of Cuba. It was agreed upon during the visit of Mongolian President Mr. Ts.Elbegdorj to Cuba. Academic exchange is important in the bilateral relations, and the sides agreed to increase size of the scholarships. Since 1994, some three Mongolian students received the Cuban government scholarships each year majoring in dentistry and medical sciences. So far, more than 140 Mongolian students have benefitted from the scholarships. At the official talks with President of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers of Cuba Mr. Raul Castro President of Cuba Mr. Raul Castro Mongolian President Elbegdorj noted Cuba was the very first Latin American country to establish diplomatic ties with Mongolia in 1960, and the friendship between the two nations have been growing ever since. The two Presidents considered boosting the bilateral cooperation in agriculture, biological and organic products, pharmaceutical and medical industries. The Mongolian-Cuban cooperation includes projects in the education, health and sports sectors, and more than 100 Mongolian health professionals had been trained in Cuba.
