Mongolia is to focus on reviving economy and attracting foreign investments. It was said by Mongolia’s PM J.Erdenebat during a courtesy call on Geoff Regan, the Speaker of the House of Commons (lower house) of Canadian Parliament, who is on an official visit to Mongolia. Mr Prime Minister emphasized that the investment and economic sectors were the major areas which had contributed to the deepening relations between the two countries. Canada is one of the third neighbors of Mongolia and is an important partner in North America. As such Mongolia aspired to strengthen the ties on a comprehensive partnership level, underline the Prime Minister. He added that the establishment of the Mongolian-Canadian intergovernmental agreement on promotion and protection of investments which was signed during the present visit will open Mongolia's door broader to Canadian investors. Mongolian Prime Minister also expressed willingness to learn from Canada in boosting the local priority sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, renewable energy, finance, environmentally-friendly industry, science, technology, education, health, tourism and green development. The Canadian Speaker expressed the hope that the newly signed intergovernmental agreement will contribute to broadening the bilateral cooperation.
