Mongolia’s biggest investment forum launches. Invest Mongolia 2016 focuses this year on the nation’s infrastructure development. The agenda includes issues pertaining to challenges and possibilities of Mongolian infrastructure development, railway infrastructure projects, new power sources, and the electric power station and airport projects being implemented under the Economic Partnership Agreement with Japan. The second day of the forum will be focused on the government action plan on halting the economic crisis, including the issues like the priorities of the new government in the next four years, pros and corns of Standby project of the International Monetary Fund and funding of green development and renewable energy projects. Invest Mongolia 2016 is being taken part by more than 1000 foreign investors and businesses interested in finding out if Mongolia will carry out policy favorable for foreign investors. The forum will also consider the issues concerning the progress of the Oyu Tolgoi underground mine and other major projects, as well as their impact on the economy; Mongolia’s banking industry and its strategies; the development of non-mining sectors, including real estate; the outlook on the bond market; and challenges for refinancing ahead of 2017.
