Statement of ASEM Leaders on International Terrorism
The Heads of State and Government of Asia and Europe, the President of the European Council, President of the European Commission and the Secretary General of ASEAN issued a statement at the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM11) Summit on July 15, 2016 on recent terrorist attacks in Europe and Asia and in many other places, and Leaders reiterated their strong unequivocal condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations of terrorism.
Leaders reaffirmed their commitment to join forces to fight plaque of terrorism and underlined the need to bring justice those responsible for the attacks in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and other obligation under international law.
The ASEM11 Summit began on July 15 in Ulaanbaatar with delegates expressing their deep sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims, to the people and to the governments who have suffered from terrorist attacks resulting in the loss of the innocent lives in Nice, France, which was conducted only few hours before the Summit.
