Mongolia`s Order of the Polar Star is awarded to Maria Fernandez-Gimenez of U.S. The Order of the Polar Star is the highest state honor bestowed on foreign nationals by the president of Mongolia for distinguished services in Mongolia. Maria E. Fernandez-Gimenez, the Professor in the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University has been awarded for her significant contribution to training experts in animal husbandry in steppes and protection of natural resources in Mongolia.
