International observers set up camp at General Electoral Commission.
International observers set up camp at General Electoral Commission. The team of long term observers from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) are working at the General Electoral Commission of Mongolia. The observers will be reviewing the procedures for the Parliamentary and City and Civil Representative’s Assembly elections, which are scheduled to be held on 29 June. More than 14 long-term and 300 short-term observers will be monitoring Mongolia’s parliamentary and lower level elections. Earlier this week political parties made public the list of their candidates. 11 political parties and three coalitions will run for the elections. Names of independent candidates will be made known on 9 June. The official election campaign period runs for 18 days up to the day before election day or on June 11.
