Mongolia-Netherlands foreign ministerial meeting held.
Mongolia-Netherlands foreign ministerial meeting held in Ulaanbaatar. The meeting focused on bilateral relations and cooperation in trade, investment and economic sectors. The sides reiterated their willingness to strengthen the current relations, and in order to foster trade turnover and investment, decided to encourage cooperation in agricultural field based on adequately accumulated resources and expertise of the two countries. Furthermore, Mongolia and Netherlands Foreign Ministries discussed the possibilities of enhancing people-to-people realtions by developing educational and cultural exchanges, and determined to focus on certain subjects. The Netherlands has been one of the West European countries to support Mongolia’s social and economic transition since its earliest stage. It successfully implemented a number of projects in Mongolia between 1990 and 2011 targeting at environmental protection and sustainable tourism in Mongolia. One of the success stories is the re-introduction of the Przewalski or Takhi horse, one of the endangered species, to Hustai National Park.
