More mutton is to be shipped to China. Under an agreement with China, high-quality Mongolian meat is being exported from several western provinces. The first shipment of 16 tons took place in February this year via the Burgastai border crossing. The meat is shipped under the Meat Program by the Government of Mongolia, which is believed to increase meat exports, particularly to open access to Chinese market, and to improve standardization capacity. The only company holding the export license is “Mon Tuya” LLC. According to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, in April this year, the company exported 56 tons of mutton and goat meat to China. The next consignment will take place in June.
