Mongolian opera singer Amartuvshin is to perform his first solo concert. Having worked as a Principal soloist of the Mongolian State Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet since 2008, 30-year old Amartuvshin, for the first time, is going to perform his solo concert next week. Amartuvshin is one of the youngest Honored Artists of Mongolia. Amartuvshin is a prize-winner of numerous Mongolian and international opera competitions including the 2-nd prize and public award as the best male singer at XIV Tchaikovsky Competition in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2011, the best male singer of the World Opera Competition of Placido Domingo in Beijing, 2nd Prize and 2 Special Prizes at the 50th Francisco Vinas Competition in Barcelona. In 2015, Mongolian baritone Amartuvshin won the Dame Joan Sutherland Audience Prize at the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition. That was the first time Mongolia was presented at the premier showcase for opera and concert singers at the outset of their careers.
