Forests may grow in Mongolian Gobi.
Forests may grow in Mongolian Gobi. There is no bad soil, so it is possible to grow forests in the Mongolian Gobi, said Prof, Dr Gunter Pauli the founder of Zero Emissions Research & Initiatives (ZERI) and The Blue Economy at his lecture at the National University of Mongolia. Mongolians have produced and exported heating materials using wool from sheep; soft drinks; beauty products such as creams, soap, and shampoo; and burn ointment using sea buckthorn. This is the beginning of building a blue economy in Mongolia, said Prof, Dr. Gunter Pauli. Prof Gunter pointed out that Mongolians should start creating new ideas to produce special products using various agricultural byproducts from livestock. As I’ve noticed, told the Prof, Mongolia has huge sand reserves but it imports thousands of tons of glass. Why Mongolia doesn’t manufacture glass, it’s important to find the solution, noted Prof. Dr Gunter Pauli. In the last 10 years human brain development reduced by 20% and it is the result of the transition from nomadic way of life to settled mode of life. Nomads resolve challenges by joint efforts and devote their heart and intellect to their families’ well being, while those in settled civilization work only for an individual family, so their brain development is restricted, told Prof Gunter, the author of the Blue Economy.
