Historically important Mongolian stamps were exhibited. The exhibition displayed some 100 historically important stamps and seals selected from 1,500 stamps which had been in use from the ancient times to the beginning of the 20^th century. The exhibition also featured some stamps of high-level military servicemen of the Yuan Dynasty and seals related to diplomatic services, or used by a famous Lama in the last century. The exhibition exposed that the state seals of Mongolia carried different traditional scripts which were in use throughout the history. For instance the state seals of the 13^th century carried the traditional Mongolian and Square- scripts. With the restoration of national independence in 1911, the administrative organs of Mongolia started using the seals with the Soyombo, Mongolian and Square scripts. The state emblem of Mongolia was changed in 1940, and six years later, the Cyrillic alphabet was inscribed on seals.
