Mongolian-Indian joint military exercises kicked off in Mongolia. The eleventh joint training exercise, ‘Nomadic Elephant-2016’, is being held to promote military associations between the countries. The exercise, which will culminate on May 8, aims to develop synergy and inter-operability between the armies to battle in counter insurgency and counter terrorism environment under the UN mandate. Some 60 personnel from the Mongolian Armed Forces are taking part in the exercise. The Mongolian and Indian contingents are sharing their techniques of unarmed combat and specialized rappelling.
