Land farming to be supported. The government of Mongolia approved a short-term program on stabilizing the land farming with key objectives to provide consumers with home-grown wheat, potatoes and other vegetables, to improve the quality of products, and to save soil fertility. Under the program, the Development Bank of Mongolia will grant two-year term loans of 50 million USD to land farming companies and individuals. The loans are projected to be used for the spring sowing, preparing ploughs, providing fuel for harvesting works, supplying pesticides, chemicals for soil saving, improving soil fertility and technical repairs. Also, the loan will be specially given to farming companies which lost much harvest due to past year’s drought. This year, some 1,200 entities and individuals are expected to produce 390 thousand tons of harvest.
