Mongolia and India strengthen ties
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation is signed between Mongolian and Indian Parliaments. The document was signed shortly after arrival in Ulaanbaatar of Speaker of the Indian Parliament’s Lower House, the Lok Sabha, Sumitra Mahajan for the 9th Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation is signed between Mongolian and Indian Parliaments. The document was signed shortly after arrival in Ulaanbaatar of Speaker of the Indian Parliament’s Lower House, the Lok Sabha, Sumitra Mahajan for the 9th Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting. The signed MoU is significant for strengthening the legal grounds for inter-parliamentary cooperation, for establishing favorable environment for further collaboration and also reassures the two countries’ preparedness to support each other at international and regional level. Indian Speaker Sumitra Mahajan noted that Mongolia is a model democracy in Asia. It has rich natural resources and India has highly developed technology, and we’ve got great cooperation opportunities to combine these resources, she noted. The Speaker of Mongolian Parliament Mr.Enkhbold highly appreciated India’s policy to support landlocked countries such as Mongolia and expressed Mongolia’s willingness to boost mutually beneficial and sustainable cooperation in economy and trade.
