Mongolia's two leading opposition parties are forming a coalition ahead of June's general elections. Following intensive negotiations the Mongolian People's Party (MPP), the largest opposition party, and the Mongolian Peoples' Revolutionary Party have reached agreement.
Mongolia's two leading opposition parties are forming a coalition ahead of June's general elections. Following intensive negotiations the Mongolian People's Party (MPP), the largest opposition party, and the Mongolian Peoples' Revolutionary Party have reached agreement. The ruling Democratic Party is also seeking to form a coalition with other minor parties. Names of nominated candidates for the June elections are reported to be made public in May. Election campaigns would be conducted within 18 days prior to the election date, according to the amended Election Law.
