“Gobi Wolf-2016” international exercises were held focusing on dealing with aftermath of earthquakes. The exercises were hosted by the National Emergency Management Agency in partnership with the US Embassy in Mongolia and the United States Pacific Command. The participants exercised in scenarios settled with artificial damage zones caused by earthquake, in train and mine accidents to improve management skills in times of possible damages. Gobi Wolf is a part of the Pacific Resilience Disaster Response Exercise and Exchange, which focuses on inter-agency coordination and foreign humanitarian assistance. It is designed to test disaster response processes while maximizing realism through a series of scenarios. The “Gobi Wolf-2016” evaluated the national disaster preparedness through five separate focus areas, including national emergency management, media relations, military considerations, first responder and international government and non-governmental agencies.
