Campaign is launched to raise public awareness of water consumption.
A month long campaign is launched to raise public awareness of water consumption. “Smart Water” campaign is about recognizing the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. The campaign is launched by the Art Council of Mongolia in cooperation with the Embassy of the USA in Ulaanbaatar in commemoration of World Water Day which has been celebrated in Mongolia since 2005. The Art Council will work to raise public awareness through films, particularly by broadcasting Mongolian and foreign documentary videos, distributing posters and building ice sculpture named “Smart Water”. Mongolia's water resources include 32.7 cubic kilometers of surface water and 6.1 cubic km of groundwater. Mongolia’s fresh water resources make up 0.4 percent of the world’s fresh water.
